Ambassador Michael Patrick Murphy, KM, born in the United States, is a trailblazing real estate developer and entrepreneur with a remarkable background built on his experiences in the Armed Forces, Merrill Lynch and founding several companies. As a Chief Executive he has spearheaded multiple projects across the United States, Caribbean, Liberia, Gabon, Kenya, South Sudan, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar valued from the millions to hundreds of millions of USD. He serves on the Corporate Boards of Daruna for Real Estate Brokerage (Qatar) and InsureTEK, Inc. (USA).

Created a Knight of Magistral Grace with the American Association in 2012, he has served in charitable roles both in his local diocese and in multiple projects in Africa. He serves on the Non-Profit Boards of The Haile Selassie Fund for Ethiopian Children (USA) and The Citadel Catholic Endowment Board (USA).

From 2019 to 2023 he was the Special Envoy of the Sovereign Order of Malta for East Africa, where he was instrumental in achieving bi-lateral diplomatic relations with South Sudan and Lesotho. He was appointed the inaugural ambassador of the Order to the Kingdom of Lesotho in 2022.

Appointed to be the Permanent Representative of the Sovereign Order of Malta to the Africa Union Commission in late 2022, he presented his credentials and assumed his post in December 2023.
