The Ambassador visited the Embassy of the United Republic of Tanzania in Addis Ababa to sign the condolence book commemorating the life of the retired Prime Minister, Mr. Edward Ngoyai Lowassa.
In an hour long in person meeting at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Lesotho in Addis Ababa, Ambassador Murphy met with Her Excellency Ntsiuoa Sekete, Ambassador of Lesotho to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union.
The Permanent Representation of the Sovereign Order of Malta to the African Union Commission, represented by the newly appointed Representation led by Ambassador Murphy, was duly represented at the AU Summit.
On January 27th, 2024, the final day of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta’s Ambassadors Conference the Holy Father received in private audience all the participating ambassadors.
The Ambassador joined over 100 of his colleagues along with the high charges of the Order and Sovereign Council at the Magistral Villa in Rome for consultations and strategic discussions on the role of Humanitarian Diplomacy in the modern context.
The Ambassador had the honor to escort the Executive Director of the World Food Programme , Ms. Cindy McCain where she delivered a powerful message of collaboration in helping the worlds poor and hungry to the Order of Malta Ambassador's Conference at the Magistral Villa in Rome.
The Ambassador paid a courtesy visit to the main house of the Comboni Missionaries in Rome, where he was recieved by the priests and brothers and had excellent discussions with the Superior General Father Tesfaye Tadesse Gebresilasie, Auxiliary Bishop of Beira, Mozambique António Constantino and Bishop of Kotido, Uganda Dominic Eibu.
The Ambassador paid a courtesy visit to the Rector of the Pontifical Ethiopian College, ABBA Heilemikael Beraki. The College is the only one that is inside the grounds of the Vatican City State and there has been a presence continuously since 1481. More Information on the College can be found here.
The Permanent Representative of the Sovereign Order of Malta, Michael P. Murphy, KM paid a courtesy visit to the headquarters of the Comboni Missionary Sisters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
